"The Doctor Who Show" has evolved out of the incredibly successful Doctor Who / Star Wars podcast "Who Wars". While the primary show doesn't start until January 2016, during the transmission of Series 9 from September to December 2015, we are treated to "The Doctor Who Review Show". This features many of the same people from "Who Wars" - plus some new voices - discussing the latest televised episode.
The show follows a magazine type format with initial sound bites on the episode in question, followed by individual reviews from different groups of the review team. Interspersed with these are more 'informational' pieces. For example in the last episode covering "Under The Lake" there was a section on the history of the Master / Missy presented by author Iain Martin and a great piece on real life sub aquatic research from Andy.
The heart of the show is "After 9", a 20 minute long review segment hosted by combinations of Al, Andy (formerly of the "Diddly Dum" podcast) and Beth (formerly of the "Binro Was Right" podcast), plus occasional special guests - and that's where I come in.
I feel incredibly privileged to have been asked to take part in the discussions about "Before The Flood". We have been talking about doing something on and off for nearly a year now but each time we got close, circumstances got in the way in one form or another. Now at last the time has come and I only hope that I didn't make a ham-fisted embarrassment of myself ! Seriously, the recording went really well and if Beth hasn't completely edited me out, you should be able to hear us talk about the episode at length as soon as episode 4 of the podcast is released.
